The National Entlebucher Mountain Dog Association was founded in 1998 and is the parent breed club for the Entlebucher in North America. NEMDA® is dedicated to protecting and advancing quality breeding and ownership of the Entlebucher Mountain Dog.
NEMDA®’s objectives are:
- To promote quality breeding through NEMDA’s Breeders Code of Ethics program
- To perform all obligations and meet all responsibilities required of an American Kennel Club Parent Breed Club
- To protect and maintain the breed in accordance with NEMDA’s Breed Standard as approved by the American Kennel Club
- To educate the public about the nature of the breed and the responsibilities of ownership
- To support and participate in canine health and genetic research programs
- To maintain an open pedigree, health, and genetic database
- To protect and advance the best interest of the breed by sponsoring conformation specialties, agility, obedience and herding trials, canine good citizen testing and educational seminars
- To maintain and promote a Comprehensive Entlebucher Breed Assessment program
- To maintain an Entlebucher rescue and re-home program
